Russia has declsred a military operation to "de-nazify" and "demilitirize" Ukraine. After years of aggression towards Ukraine, Russia finally gives into it's temptations and decides to pursue a reckless and dangerous war on a small and peaceful country. All of this started back in 2014, when protests in Ukraine led to the removal of a President who was found out to be a Russian puppet. In response, Russia angrily annexed Crimea, formerly a part of Ukraine, and began war games with the country through Seperatist forces in Ukraine that alligned with Russia. The annexation of Crimea occurred under President Obama's Administration. Ultimately, the Administration did not do enough to punish Russia for it's violation of international laws and treaties, only putting in place a few sanctions, thus letting Russia get away with it. In the years since, from 2017 through 2020, Russia's aggressions in the world cooled down. During this time, businessman Donald Trump was the President. Under his Administration, the media pushed false stories based from leaked intel (which has proven to be false) that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia in order to let him win and in return: impact policy to be favourable towards Russia. As President, Trump did have an eased tone towards Russia, but also put in place sanctions on Russia that hindered their access to selling oil in Europe, thus stopping countries in Europe becoming more iependent on Russian oil. As soon as Joe Biden became President, he rescended the sanctions put in place by Trump and put in place other sanctions that addressed Russian oligarchs. However, in November of 2021, satellite images began to show that Russia was amassing troops along Ukraine's border. The Biden Administration had months of indication that Russia was building up forces along Ukraine, but did nothing to stop it. By January 2022, Russia amassed over 100,000 forces along Ukraine's border but still failed to do anything about it. Instead, Biden cited Article 5 of NATO as an excuse for not protecting Ukraine. NATO is an alliance of nations across the world that was created after World War II. Article 5 of the NATO treaty states that if any NATO ally were to be attacked, the other allies would be obligated to aid in defensive theatre in that nation. Of course, Ukraine is not a part of NATO. Essentially, Biden centered his foreign policy of the defense of a key U.S ally on a globalist and frankly, ineffective organization which has failed time and time again to stop China and Russia from destabilizing Asia and Europe. Instead of making excuses for why he wasn't going to take the initiative to defend Ukraine, he should have sent 20,000 U.S troops across Ukraine and hel to reinforce the border by sending military equipment, anti-aircraft, and develop an air defense in coalition with Ukraine's military. Mind you, Russia does not want to go into a proxy war with the United States. So, if we showed strength, Russia would have seen this, respected our decision, and returned their forces, thus avoiding a war between Ukraine and Russia. By playing the "safe" route, Biden actually made the situation worse. But just like during the Afghanistan crisis, Biden blames everybody but himself, especially when the weakness he projects has a direct result to what crises come about. Remember, Biden undid sanctions taken against a Russian pipeline in Germany under Trump, and this revocation had a direct impact on Russia's build-up in money to set up their after-sanction plans and also weakened the world's ability to be independent of Russian oil. Now the invasion is taking place, Ukraine is under attack and many are dying. With the overpowered Russian military, Ukraine will likely fall witin a week. The outcome for you? Most of the world is dependent on Russia for its oil and gas. So, since the world is sanctioning Russian oil, their ability to trade with North America and Europe is blocked and the world loses a crucial source of oil. The end result is a higher price for oil barrels, as much as $105 for crude oil. This means that power companies will have to raise prices, gas stations will make you pay more for gas, and overall, inflation rises. The price to produce and ship foods will be going up substantially, giving you your end result: higher prices on everything. I forgive Vladamir Putin and still see Russia as more of an ally than an adversary. Russia responds to strength not weakness. We must project strength in order to get Russia's loyalty and respect. Hopefully this time around America will realize that we must change our policy. God bless President Joseph R. Biden Jr., God bless the people of Ukraine, and may God protect our troops.
